Opal
Desert Opals have a distinct interplay of color and light while being as as tough and as rugged as the Southwest itself. Desert Opals are synthetically engineered opals that will not crack or become cloudy. They are not typically sensitive to outdoor temperatures or household chemicals. There is absolutely no oiling, polishing, or maintenance required. Contemporary Native American artists have found that Desert Opals are durable enough to be used in the intricate inlay pieces for which they are known. Different shades of blue and pink are often infused for additional effect and luminosity.
